We are careful about assessing risks to our clients and offer a range of trained supervisors. We do not use volunteers. All our supervisors are CRB checked and supported by the wider multi-disciplinary team. There will always be at least one other person on site who is not involved in the contact who can provide additional help in case of difficulty arising.
We work towards making contact possible even when there has been a dispute between parents. We work primarily with families where parents are involved in ongoing court proceedings. We aim to create a safe place for children to develop a good relationship with their absent parent(s) and/or other significant relatives.
The Ashwood Practice is a registered Contact Centre (NACCC) known as The Ashwood Contact Centre, a calm pleasant child-centred setting. We offer managed/supervised and therapeutic contact services for children of separated parents and for children living in alternative homes.
The Contact rooms are warm and comfortable with cooking and play facilities and a safe space to play outside. There are separate entrances for those clients who do not wish to meet and a security system in place in case of need.
