Looked After Children

The Ashwood Practice has years of experience offering services for children who come into the care of the Local Authority, at each level of need (eg. Consultation, therapeutic services and Placement planning).

Clinical Mediation

A specialised service offering Family therapy mediation in Residency and Contact Disputes.

Specialist Contact Services

We are a registered Contact Centre (NACCC) and offer managed/supervised and therapeutic contact services for children of separated parents /children living permanently in alternative homes.

Medico-legal Consultancy (AMLC Ltd)

Offers a comprehensive Psychiatric/Psychological Expert Witness Service in Criminal, Civil and Family Court Cases and in Mental Health Act Appeal Tribunals.

Training Conferences

We present day-conferences around specific themes related to our work; contribute as invited speakers to Conferences; hold regular quarterly seminars for GPs, teachers, and lawyers.

The Ashwood Practice, part of the Baker Duncan Partnership, Brookwood, Woking, Surrey Specialist Private Assessment and Treatment Services across the whole spectrum of psychological/mental health conditions and childhood developmental problems, including Aspergers Syndrome, Autism, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, ADHD and OCD. We offer a continuing service throughout childhood, adolescence and adulthood. The clinical problems we commonly encounter include depression, deliberate self-harm, anxiety - in all its forms, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders and adjustments reactions in individuals and families in relation to traumatic seperation (including bereavement of parents, children and siblings) or other family crises such as divorce and domestic/family violence.

We have developed specialist expertise in assisting families who have adopted children with attachment problems and we have also set up a therapeutic re-parenting scheme to support foster-carers who are struggling with very challenging behaviour in younger children.
