THE AUTISM, ASPERGER’S AND DEVELOPMENTAL DIFFICULTIES SERVICE

Aims

We provide a responsive, multidisciplinary, individually tailored assessment and intervention service for children, young people and adults for a range of developmental disorders including:Autism and Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD)Asperger’s SyndromePervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD)Speech and Language DisordersDyspraxiaLearning DisabilitiesSpecific Learning Difficulties/DyslexiaADHD and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)

We develop and carry out assessment and intervention packages for behavioural, emotional, psychiatric, educational and practical difficulties related to Developmental Disorders and Difficulties.

The Team

Dr Louise Connor, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, leads the team with the option of additional input from the following professionals:Clinical PsychologistEducational PsychologistOccupational TherapistPsychiatrist Speech and Language Therapist

The Assessment Process
1. Initial screening assessment with a Clinical Psychologist to identify the issues and plan any further assessment needs
2. Further clinical assessment is carried out as required
3. Feedback is given immediately following assessment wherever possible and plans are made for the next steps.
